WildCat Saves US Navy $100,000+
WildCat Propellers was recently contacted by NSWC Cardrock regarding
a propeller problem. The Navy had two highly sophisticated propellers
off their 170’ Coastal Patrol Craft that had been damaged. Two
reputable propeller repair facilities had these propellers for several
weeks measuring and inspecting them. They declared the propellers
“beyond economical repair.”
WildCat scanned the propellers with their Prop Scan 134” measuring
assembly. In less than an hour the propellers had been measured and
compared to their original design which WildCat had on file. Although
some of the blades were bent back into radius 3 & 4, comparison
to the design indicated that it was possible to repair both propellers.
WildCat Propellers successfully completed the work to ISO 484 Class
S Standards from radius 0.3 to 0.95.
The Final Reports verified that the propellers met the original design
criteria, exceeding US Navy Standards. Net savings to the Navy: $
106,000.00 New Orleans Work Boat Show
WildCat Propellers in conjunction with other network shops had another
successful showing at the New Orleans International Work Boat Show.
This show has become a must for any serious commercial operator. Commercial,
Military, and Government concerns from the US and abroad were all
found at this dynamic show. Our modern technology was well received
at the show. By government and commercial concerns. With more modern
hull designs and computer controlled engines there is a demonstrated
need for better, more accurate, more efficient propellers that don’t
vibrate to drive these newer more sophisticated vessels.
47’ Buddy Davis Gains Speed
Mike Borden owner of the 47’Buddy Davis FISH MAGNET wrote: “
I was astounded at the speed gain after your Prop Scan overhaul!!!
Before the overhaul I was turning a full throttle max RPM of 2250
and making 24.7 KTS after the overhaul at the same weight I was turning
exactly the same max RPM of 2250 but now doing 28 KTS!!! The speed
gain was incredible but the lack of vibration at all speeds was just
as impressive.” Prop Scan is able to achieve these results by
maximizing propeller efficiency and matching propellers to vessels.
There is more to propeller repair than just pitch. WildCat Propellers
actually creates a new design for every propeller based on that vessel’s
performance and proposed use. This results in the best and most efficient
propeller for your boat. Perfect Pitch

The most cost-effective way to improve your inboard-powered boat’s
performance
We'd heard the stories and, to be honest, they all sounded too good
to be true. People were raving.
After their propellers went under the gun of the Prop Scan system,
customers said their boats ran faster, burned less fuel, and were
vibration-free. Heck, throw in the spray-on hair in a can and we could
do an infomercial. This was something we had to see for ourselves.

Calculated the pitch necessary to match engine loading characteristics.
Top speed increased from 38 to 41.9 Knots with same RPM, better fuel
economy, and no vibration.

Read How WildCat Props Exceeds the Expectations
of Our Customers!
Just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for the tour of your shop the
other day. Needless to say, I was impressed with all of the hardware and
'software' that it takes to do your job. It is truly a marriage of technology
and brute force. I enjoyed talking with you in the back shop and I appreciate
the extra time you always take to make sure that even thickheaded guys like
me understand the physics of what we need to do to achieve a certain level
of performance in regard to our propulsion. I walked out feeling like I
should've been carrying a diploma...Seriously though, your service is second
to none and I know that the guys you serve in the fleet down here really
appreciate the extra effort you give to keep us all rigged up. I am itching
to run these new ZFs and I'll let you know how they feel and perform as
soon as I get this steering cooler back on. If they're half as smooth as
the old pair you tuned up for me, I'll be expecting plenty of flatline bites...Take
care and I'll see you this weekend at John's.
Sincerely,
Jeff James
