The Maxifoil® system is a radical new design that provides
further efficiency gains over VEEMKaplan and VEEMSkewplan designs.
The Maxifoil design utilizes a multi-element propeller where the key
to the efficiency gain is due to the overlapping blade arrangement.
Secondary blades operate in pre-accelerated flow aft of the main blade
and when combined with reduced pitch main blades (which are inherently
more efficient themselves), a propulsion system results that commonly
yields thrust improvements of between 10 and 15% over existing Kaplan
propellers.
The secondary blades also improve reversibility due to the re-direction
of flow over the trailing edge of the main blades. The Maxifoil
design was developed in conjunction with many large trawler fleet
operators, who continue to utilize the advanced design, proving the
Maxifoil provides a significant improvement over conventional propellers.
The Maxifoil system is NOT simply an add-on, but an integral arrangement
to the main blade. The improved efficiency of the Maxifoil system
delivers more thrust for the same engine power resulting in reduced
fuel consumption, increased bollard pull and/or an improved cruise
speed.
Manufactured using the latest robotic and CNC processes, the VEEM
Maxifoil is of the highest quality and accuracy attainable, and is
further improved with dynamic balancing at VEEM's NATA. approved balancing
facility.
Overall, the VEEM Maxifoil system provides the ultimate in propeller
thrust and efficiency for nozzle applications.

A quick note to thank you for your excellent work over the last 5 years
(those being years Wildcat worked on Backlash wheels), we have placed in
the top three (first, second, third) for six tournaments. The smaller three
blade wheels allow us to go slow for winter rockfish trips. And we like
the economy of 20 knots/20 gallon/hr (combined). But I really get excited
with the 24x27 ZF 4 blades. Your recommendations were right on: 30 knot
cruise, 35 knot top end, zero cavitation, super smooth and (best of all)
fuel economy!!! Right after we put the 4 blades on in Hatteras, we won the
2007 Hatteras Village Open with a 613# Blue Marlin and another release.
If someone thinks you are too high - don't forget -you are saving them money
on fuel. And that fuel expense is not likely to change!!!
